Il-2 early series decals (Part I) 1:72 from Colibri Decals — sheets with color markings for the early versions of the Soviet Ilyushin Il-2 ground-attack aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This decal set in 1:72 scale brings color schemes and markings for the early versions of the legendary Soviet Ilyushin Il-2 ground-attack aircraft. It is not a kit but an accessory with which you bring a plastic model of an early single-seat or two-seat machine to life. The set is marked as the first part, so it concentrates on selected period machines from the beginning of the type's service.
The Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik was one of the most mass-produced combat aircraft in history and the backbone of Soviet ground-attack aviation in the Second World War. It was notable for the armored bathtub of the fuselage protecting the pilot and the engine and for heavy attack armament for destroying ground targets. The early series differed from the later ones in the shape of the canopy, in armament and in period camouflage and tactical markings.
Apply the decals onto a smooth, gloss surface: coat the area with gloss varnish first, so that the carrier film of the decal bonds perfectly with the surface and no silvering edges appear. Once dry, use a decal softener and setter, so that the markings settle to the detail and the engraved lines. Finally spray a matte or semi-gloss varnish according to the character of the real machine.
This is an accessory (decals), not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
