An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Jagdpanther tank destroyer in the mid-production configuration, in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The set contains finely shaped parts in gray plastic, one-piece vinyl tracks and a decal sheet. The model stands out for the detail of the hull, the casemate superstructure and the long gun barrel.
The Jagdpanther was a German tank destroyer of the Second World War built on the proven chassis of the Panther medium tank. In its low, well-armored casemate superstructure it carried a long 88 mm gun with outstanding penetrating power, backed up by a hull machine gun. The combination of heavy firepower, good armor and a low silhouette made it one of the most feared tracked weapons of its day. The individual production batches differed in details of the superstructure and of the gun mounting.
Assemble and paint the running gear before closing the hull. Join the vinyl tracks with cyanoacrylate glue. Lay down primer, then the base shade with an airbrush, and for German vehicles of the late period consider a three-tone camouflage. Build the weathering with washes into the engraved lines and rivets, pigments on the running gear and light shading of the large sloping surfaces of the superstructure.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
