1:72 Lockheed C-130J-30 Hercules, part I is a combined pack of Eduard photo-etched sets from the Big Ed line for a model of the stretched C-130J-30 transport aircraft in 1:72 scale.

The Big Ed line brings several separate photo-etched sets for one model together in a single package. This is not a kit of the aircraft but accessories for a model you have already bought. The designation part I means that the content is divided into more than one package; with a subject as large as a four-engine transport aircraft, the number of photo-etched parts will not fit into one set.
The C-130 Hercules is a tactical transport aircraft with a high wing, four turboprop engines, a high-set tail and a cargo ramp at the rear. The arrangement with the landing gear retracting into side fairings allows operation from short and unprepared surfaces. The C-130J version is an upgraded generation with new engines, propellers and digital avionics; the C-130J-30 form differs from the basic variant in its stretched fuselage, which increases the volume of the cargo compartment.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a scalpel on a hard backing and make the bends over a steel ruler or in a bending tool. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a filler primer. Apply cyanoacrylate glue in a minimal amount with a pin so that it does not run onto the surrounding areas. On a large model it is practical to proceed in sections and to paint the photo-etched assemblies before fitting them, because you will no longer reach into a finished fuselage. The light finishes of transport aircraft forgive little, so smooth the surface under the paint carefully.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
