This set of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale is intended for a model of the Japanese A6M2-N Rufe floatplane fighter. The subject is machines used in the area of the Solomon Islands. It is not a kit but an accessory with authentic period markings.
The A6M2-N Rufe was the floatplane variant of the Zero fighter with a large central float and two auxiliary floats. In the South Pacific, where there were no established airfields, it carried out defensive and escort duties from water anchorages.
The decals are applied by the wet method onto a smooth gloss coat. Coat the surface with gloss varnish, release the decal in water, position it and, once dry, go over it with a matte varnish. A softener makes it easier to settle on a broken-up surface.
