A sheet of water-slide decals in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Kits-World, intended for a model of the B-25J Mitchell version. The product is an accessory to a build: it contains no plastic parts nor a finished model, only printed decals on a carrier film.
The B-25J closed the production line of the Mitchell and was committed in large numbers until the end of the Second World War. It was a twin-engine all-metal machine with twin vertical tail surfaces, radial engines and a roomy bomb bay. Operational service in demanding climates left its mark on the machines quickly, so chipped paint and overpainted markings are a rewarding subject with this version.
The order of the work is the key. First finish the paint, then seal the area with gloss clear, apply the decals onto it and let them dry out properly. Next comes a second layer of gloss clear, which seals the decals, and only then is it the turn of the weathering, that is, washes into the engraved lines, filters and a dry brush. A final matte or semi-gloss clear coat evens the sheen of the whole model out and makes the edges of the carrier film invisible. When this order is reversed, the decals are easily disturbed during the weathering.
The package contains decals only. The kit, paints and clear coats are not part of it.
