A decal sheet in 1:72 scale with the subject of de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth trainer biplanes operated in Norway. The product is an accessory: it contains a sheet of decals, not plastic parts. You build the model from a kit of your own and mark it with this sheet. The manufacturer is the Norwegian brand Vingtor Decals.
The Tiger Moth is a classic trainer biplane of mixed construction with a covering of doped fabric, open cockpits and fixed landing gear. It is precisely the fabric covering and the rich arrangement of struts that make this type a rewarding model, but one that calls for patience: the surface has pronounced ribbing and any unevenness under a decal shows at once.
Never apply decals dry onto a ribbed fabric surface: you need a gloss intermediate coat and enough decal softener for the film to be drawn into the hollows between the ribs. Work in small areas and let the model rest between them. If you are adding bracing wires to the model, fit the decals before you string them, otherwise you will not reach the surface. On a biplane it also pays to mark the upper and the lower wing at the same time so that the insignia come out symmetrical. A final matte clear coat unifies the surface and hides the edges of the carrier film.
This is an accessory for modelers. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
