An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet OB-3 two-axle armored railroad car in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer UM (UniModels). The model belongs to the maker's range of armored trains. The package combines polystyrene parts with photo-etched detail and a decal sheet; sections of track are usually included. The OB-3 was a type of Soviet armored railroad car (armored wagon) used in armored train formations. The two-axle (biaxial) version refers to a chassis layout with two axles. Armored wagons carried turrets with armament and formed the fighting core of an armored train.
Glue the model with liquid cement for plastic and attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The sizeable armored wagon comes out well with a primer and airbrush painting; pick out the riveted and engraved details with a wash and weather the running gear with pigments. The model can be expanded into a whole armored train formation.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
