A set of resin accessories intended for a model of the Otter light reconnaissance armored vehicle in 1:72 scale. It is not a vehicle kit but equipment with which you complete and bring a finished model to life. The base model is obtained separately, and the set is fitted onto it during or after the build.
The Otter was a light wheeled reconnaissance armored car of Canadian manufacture from the Second World War period. It was based on the chassis of a production truck, was given a closed armored hull and was conceived as a simple machine that could be built quickly for reconnaissance and liaison tasks. In 1:72 scale the vehicle is small, so it is the accessories that decide whether a model comes across as a scale reduction of a machine in service or as a bare casting out of a box.
Wash the resin parts first in lukewarm water with dish soap – that rids them of the remains of mold release agent, on which paint would not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a sharp knife, sand the cut face down and protect your airways while sanding. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary cement for plastic will not join resin. Lay down a thin primer coat before painting, which will even out the surface of both the resin and the plastic and reveal any sanding marks left. The details will come out after a dark wash run into the recesses and a fine dry brush on the edges.
The set is supplied unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
