SX-Art masking stencils for the F/A-18F in 1:72 scale

Self-adhesive masking stencils from the manufacturer SX-Art for a model of the F/A-18F aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit and not parts of a model but an accessory for painting. A stencil is stuck to spraying that has matured, oversprayed with a further color, and once it is taken off a sharply bounded motif remains that is part of the layer of paint. No glossy edge of carrier film arises on the model, and the risk of a decal silvering falls away.

The F/A-18F is the two-seat version of the carrier-borne multirole aircraft of the Super Hornet line. Compared with the older Hornet type it has a larger airframe, angular air intakes and a higher payload. It operates from the deck of aircraft carriers and carries low-visibility gray schemes, in which the boundaries of the shades and the markings are clearly apparent, and it is precisely there that precise spraying pays off.

Use

• Let the base spraying mature thoroughly, and only then mask.
• Lay the stencil on and press it down along its whole edge, especially at transitions of shape.
• Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats at a right angle to the area.
• Take the stencil off shortly after the paint has set, while the film is not yet completely hard.
• Seal the spraying with a varnish compatible with the paint used, and only then weather it.
