A set of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer ROP o.s. It is not an airplane model but an accessory of markings for finishing a plastic kit of the Soviet Polikarpov I-16 fighter, nicknamed the Rata, in the form of captured machines operated in Finnish service.
The Polikarpov I-16 was a Soviet monoplane with retractable landing gear and a barrel-shaped fuselage. Some of the captured machines were operated by other states during the war; Finland took captured I-16s into its air force. The set brings markings for this neutrally treated theme of foreign service.
The decals release in lukewarm water and are transferred onto the model; they settle best on smooth gloss varnish, and a decal softener and coating over the transitions to match the subject are recommended.
The decals are an accessory for a model. The kit itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
