This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale represents the BM-21 Grad self-propelled rocket launcher, that is, a 122 mm launcher on the chassis of an off-road truck. The package contains plastic parts for building the vehicle and the pack of launch tubes, plus decals with generic markings. It is a kit from Hobby Boss.
The BM-21 Grad is a Soviet area-saturation rocket launcher taken into service in the 1960s as a replacement for older systems. A salvo of unguided 122 mm rockets serves to shell an area. In its later form the system was mounted on an off-road chassis of the Ural family, which kept its mobility high. The weapon is still widespread in many armies today.
Assemble the suspension and the chassis first, and only then close up the superstructure. Use liquid cement for plastic and a thin coat of primer before painting. The pack of launch tubes calls for patience and clean joints. For a convincing look we recommend washes and pigments for mud and dust effects on the chassis and the lower areas.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
