SX-Art 1:72 Seahawk FGA.6 / Mk.100 / 101 Painting mask is a set of self-adhesive stencils for spraying the color scheme onto a model of the British carrier-based jet aircraft Hawker Sea Hawk in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SX-Art set of stencils is intended for spraying the color areas on a Sea Hawk model in 1:72 scale. The designations FGA.6 and Mk.100 or Mk.101 belong to the British carrier-based jet aircraft Hawker Sea Hawk and its export versions. Do not confuse it with the Seahawk helicopter, which carries the same name but is an entirely different machine.
The Hawker Sea Hawk was a single-engine carrier-based jet aircraft with a straight wing and bifurcated exhaust nozzles on the sides of the fuselage. The FGA.6 version was the attack adaptation for the Royal Navy, and the designations Mk.100 and Mk.101 belonged to the export configuration. The airframe has smooth areas and simple shapes, so a color boundary on it has nowhere to hide.
The adhesion of a stencil depends very much on what it lies on. On a smooth and glossy coat a stencil holds best and the edge comes out sharpest, but there is a risk of it tearing the paint away when lifted off if the paint was not cured enough. On a matte layer it is the other way round: the stencil holds less and the paint creeps under it more easily, but the removal is gentler. When you spray onto a matte base, expect to press the edges down more thoroughly. Before applying, degrease the surface and clear it of dust, as the smallest piece of dirt under the edge will make the paint run in.
The package contains masking stencils only. The model, the paints and the airbrush are not part of it.
