A set of turned metal barrels in 1:72 scale from the Polish maker Aber. It is not a kit but a detail accessory: five barrels for the MG 34 tank machine gun, with which you replace the coarse plastic parts in machine gun cupolas, ball mounts and on the anti-aircraft pintles of German vehicles. A package of five pieces covers several models at once or serves as a reserve during a build.
The MG 34 of 7.92 mm caliber was a general-purpose machine gun that Germany used from the middle of the 1930s both in the infantry role and as secondary armament on armored vehicles. On vehicles it turned up in a ball mount in the front of the hull, coaxial with the main weapon and as an anti-aircraft machine gun on the turret. Its typical mark is the perforated barrel jacket, which injection-molded plastic can only suggest in a small scale.
Cut the plastic barrel off with a scalpel and sand the remainder flat. The metal parts are small — work over a mat with a rim so that a lost part does not roll away across the workshop. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin. Degrease the metal before painting and lay down a base coat for metals. A machine gun looks better in a dark gray or black with a light polishing of the edges with graphite or a metallic pigment, rather than in the color of the hull.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
