Responsibility details are not available.
A finished model of the Swedish Stridsvagn 103 tank in the C version, 1:72 scale. The model is assembled, painted and provided with markings by the maker, so no building work is involved: you need no glue, abrasive paper, primer or airbrush. It ends up in a display case as soon as it is unpacked.
The Strv 103 is a tank with no rotating turret: the gun is fixed rigidly in the hull and aiming is provided by turning the vehicle on the spot together with pitching the hull through the hydropneumatic suspension. This concept gave the vehicle an unusually low silhouette and is the main reason the type is among the most often cited design experiments of the Cold War. The C version represents a later modernization step, into which changes drawn from operating experience with the previous standards were worked. The external differences between the versions are rather matters of detail, which makes it all the more interesting to have both side by side in a collection.
With a finished model the most demanding part of the work, that is the painting and the application of markings, falls away. The result is consistent across the range, so a collection is easy to add to piece by piece. Protect the model from direct sun, which does the paint no good, and from dust, which is harder to remove from small details than from smooth surfaces, so an enclosed display case pays off. Use a dry soft brush for dusting, not water or cleaning agents. When carrying it, take hold of the model by the hull.
The model is supplied finished: assembled and painted. Nothing is glued or painted, and no glue or paints are needed.
