An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-26 light tank in the unusual guise with the turret of a BT-2 tank, in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer UM (UniModels). The set holds polystyrene parts, plastic tracks made of individual links and a decal sheet; for the exact contents, follow the instructions included.
The T-26 was the most widespread Soviet light tank of the 1930s, based on the licensed design of the British Vickers 6-Ton. A number of experimental and rebuilt variants existed; the combination of a T-26 hull with the turret of a BT-2 fast tank is among the interesting experimental solutions of armament and turret arrangement of that period.
Glue the model with liquid cement for plastic; the individual plastic track links allow a realistic sag but call for patience while they are assembled around the road wheels. Finish the running gear before closing up the hull, then apply a primer and paint with an airbrush. Pick out the panel lines and the details with a wash, and the mud effects with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
