An injection-molded plastic kit of the early Soviet medium tank in 1:72 scale from the maker PST, released as a limited edition. The package contains plastic parts and decals, and the set also includes parts that allow the related T-55 version to be built. The detail is decent for the scale, with minimal flash. Expect a classic build from sprues.
The T-54 was a Soviet medium tank that became one of the most widespread tanks of the postwar era and the basis of a whole large family. The early 1949 variant is among the first production forms of the type, still before the later changes to the turret and the equipment. Together with the T-55 that followed, it formed the backbone of the armored forces of many armies for decades.
Finish the running gear and the tracks first, then the hull and the turret. Decide in advance whether you are building the T-54 or the related T-55 and set the unneeded parts aside. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and sand down the seams. Lay the base down with primer, the main color with an airbrush, and add washes and pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
