A resin kit of the Tatra OA vz. 30 armored car in 1:72 from the Planet models brand. The vehicle is also known by the German designation Panzerspähwagen 30(t), under which captured examples served in the Second World War. Resin castings allow finer and more complex shapes than injection-molded plastic, but they make greater demands on the builder, which is why the model is intended for experienced modelers. The number of parts and the contents of the package are given on the packaging of the kit.
The OA vz. 30 was a light armored car built on a three-axle Tatra chassis with a backbone frame and independently sprung wheels. It was created at the start of the 1930s for the Czechoslovak army as a reconnaissance and liaison vehicle. The armor was thin and protected the crew only against small-arms fire and shell splinters; the armament consisted of machine guns. After 1939 some of the vehicles were taken over by German units under the designation Panzerspähwagen 30(t) and others served in Slovakia. In appearance the vehicle is easily recognized by its tall box superstructure and small turret.
First wash the parts in warm water with detergent so that any mold release agent is removed, otherwise paint will not hold on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc; do not snap them. When sanding resin, protect your airway and sand wet, as the dust is harmful. It is bonded exclusively with cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary cement for plastic does not work on resin. A primer is necessary before painting. Finish with a dark wash into the recesses and pigments for mud and dust effects around the wheels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
