The CMK resin set of road wheel torque arms for the 1:72 Tiger I late version replaces the coarsely molded plastic suspension arms, on which the lack of fineness shows most in a small scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a model of a tank but a small resin set for the running gear. The contents are the arms on which the road wheels are suspended on the model. The set is intended for the late version of the Tiger I in 1:72 scale and replaces the corresponding plastic parts of the kit.
On the real machine the road wheel torque arms are fairly slender metal forgings that lead the wheel from the torsion bar in the hull. In a kit in 1:72 scale, though, the mold cannot make them that thin; they have to have draft angles and sufficient thickness to be molded at all. The result tends to be an arm visibly thicker than it should be and with soft edges. On the late Tiger I this is particularly glaring where the wheels overlap and you can see through between them. A resin casting avoids the molding limitation and holds the shape without draft angles.
These are small parts, so work over a low tray, because whatever falls on the carpet is usually not found again. Leave the castings in the casting block for as long as possible and cut them off only just before gluing; the block is easier to hold than the arm itself. Level the gate remnant by sanding wet on fine paper laid on glass: you press the part down flat and with no risk of sanding it into a wedge. Before gluing, try all the arms dry and check that the wheels sit in one plane and at even spacing, because an arm seated crooked shows more on a finished model than a missing detail. It is most practical to paint before the wheels are fitted.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
