The Ye-152A (E-152A) masking set in the EXPERT grade, 1:72 scale from the New Ware brand. A higher grade of the same line for modelers who want to mask more than just the cockpit canopy.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for building a model of the Soviet experimental aircraft Ye-152A in 1:72 scale from the New Ware brand. The set is neither a model nor a kit — it holds pre-cut self-adhesive masks, which are used during finishing. The designation EXPERT is the highest grade of the graded line BASIC, ADVANCED and EXPERT and it is at the same time the main figure by which otherwise identically named sets differ.
A mask seats exactly only on a smooth base. Before you apply it, look over the join of the canopy with the fuselage and the edges of the frames: a remnant of a parting line, flash or a microscopic gap under the mask will create a channel through which the paint runs under. Rather fill the gaps with thin putty or apply a drop of cyanoacrylate glue and sand it away to nothing with very fine abrasive paper. Then polish the area and degrease it. Only then lay the mask down — on a prepared surface it holds better and comes off without residue.
It is a good idea to lay a thin layer of the paint that forms the boundary under the mask first; that seals any microscopic seepage and the further layers are then clean. Always apply several thin passes instead of one thick one.
The package holds only the masks. The kit, paints and glue are not included in it.
