A decal sheet for a model of the C-47 Skytrain in 1:87 scale, that is in HO railroad scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The C-47 Skytrain came about as the military version of the Douglas DC-3 airliner. The British and other Allies used the name Dakota for it. A pair of piston radial engines, sturdy construction and the ability to take off from a grass strip made it a reliable workhorse: it carried supplies and troops, dropped paratroopers and towed cargo gliders. After the war hundreds of airframes went back to transport work and some flew on for whole decades.
This is a decal sheet for 1:87 scale, which corresponds to HO in railroad modeling. A model of the aircraft in this ratio can therefore be placed on a layout or in a diorama alongside buildings, vehicles and figures of the same size. In a scale this small the insignia are tiny and spraying through a stencil is out of the question, so a decal is the only route to a sharp, legible result. Exactly what the sheet holds is given in the instructions supplied.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether this is a self-adhesive version: a self-adhesive film that has been soaked is irretrievably ruined, whereas a waterslide decal that has not been soaked can still be soaked later. With the usual waterslide version, finish the surface to a gloss, cut the motif out, soak it briefly in lukewarm water and let it rest. Then slide it off the paper onto the moistened spot, settle it with tweezers, blot the surplus water away and leave it in peace to dry.
The decal sheet is supplied on its own. The kit, paints and varnishes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
