Pitchforks and rakes in 1:87 scale from Hauler are a diorama accessory for rural and farm scenes, on a layout and on a stand-alone diorama alike.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is neither a model of a vehicle nor a kit. The package holds small farm tools in 1:87 scale, that is in the railway scale H0. Such objects are what on a scene is called narrative detail: on their own they do not catch the eye, but they give the space a reason to exist. A pitchfork leaning against a barn door or a rake laid on the bed of a cart suggests at once that somebody uses the place.
Typically in a rural or farm setting: beside a barn, in a farmyard, in a hayloft, by a truck loaded with hay, but also in the back area of a field camp. It also works well as an unobtrusive addition to a station or a goods shed on an H0 layout. Because these are very small objects, it pays to place them in small numbers and rather on the viewing side of the scene, where the visitor will see them.
Work with tweezers with fine points and over a tray with a raised edge. Pick the parts up carefully, as the shafts are extremely thin in this scale. They glue with super glue applied with a pin, and on absorbent surfaces such as scatter material PVA glue helps. Painting is easier before fitting: wooden shafts in a brown shade with a lighter dry brush, metal parts in a dark metal shade with light rust. All that is left at the end is a discreet veil of pigment, so that the tools do not look new from a store.
It is a diorama accessory, not a kit. A base, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
