A plastic kit of a modern light skid steer loader in US Army form, in 1:35 scale from Gecko Models. It is not a fighting vehicle but a compact military construction and engineer machine. The model offers fine detail, slide-mold tooling, plastic hoses and a movable loader bucket. It is an unusual and rewarding addition to dioramas.
Skid steer loaders are small, nimble working machines controlled by skid steering, in which turning is done by different wheel speeds on the left and right sides. In army use they serve for engineer and supply work - moving materials, shaping ground or handling pallets - in rear areas and in forward positions alike. Thanks to their small dimensions they are easy to transport.
Separate the small and fine parts carefully and clean them up under good lighting. Use a thin cement on the plastic, treat the surface with a primer and lay the paints on with an airbrush. A working machine comes into its own with signs of wear - chipped paint on the bucket, a wash into the recesses and dust or mud pigments on the running gear and in the bucket arms.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
