The 1:48 North American Rockwell OV-10D Bronco masking set from the Dead Design brand is an accessory for the build that makes accurate spraying easier.

A masking set from the Dead Design brand in 1:48 scale for the Bronco in the OV-10D version. It is neither a kit nor a part of a model but pre-cut masks, which are stuck onto a finished surface and bound the area that is to stay untouched. This item is the basic version of the range - for the same type there is also a set for masking from outside and inside and separate national insignia.
The OV-10D is a later version of the Bronco reworked for night and low-level duties. It is told apart from the basic variant chiefly by a lengthened nose with a sensor turret. The rest of the airframe stayed characteristic: two engine nacelles with booms, a high-set wing and a large glazed cockpit.
Accuracy stands or falls with the thickness of the paint. Every coat of finish increases the radius in the corners between the frame and the glazing, and the mask then does not seat at the bottom of that corner. Spray thinly, therefore, and preferably in two passes rather than one heavy coat - a heavy coat holds in a bead under the edge of the mask and tears off as a ridge when it comes away. Allow full drying between individual shades; a mask laid on paint that is still releasing thinner will suck itself down and tear a piece of the finish away when removed. Take it off slowly and at a shallow angle, back over itself rather than straight up.
The set holds masks only. The model and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
