An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet experimental SU-1 self-propelled gun on the chassis of the T-26 light tank in 1:72 scale. This variant is supplied with soft rubber (vinyl) tracks. The package contains plastic parts on sprues; the model is meant to be glued together and painted.
The SU-1 was a Soviet experimental self-propelled gun of the early 1930s, built on the chassis of the T-26 light tank. It carried a 76.2 mm howitzer in an enclosed fighting compartment. The prototype appeared in the early 1930s and offered mobility comparable to the T-26 tank. The type never reached series production, though, because trials revealed problems with operating the enclosed superstructure on the move.
Assemble the running gear first and fit the soft rubber tracks, which can be shaped around the wheels. Bond the joints of the plastic parts with a liquid cement for plastic and clean the small parts up carefully. After the base color, bring the recesses out with washes and add dust and mud pigments for believable weathering of interwar equipment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
