Responsibility details are not available.
A set of waterslide decals in 1:32 scale for models of the Vought F4U Corsair fighter as it appeared during the Korean War. It is neither a kit nor a part of a model; the package holds a printed decal sheet that you transfer onto an already painted model. The set is marked as the second part of a series that covers the subject in several parts.
The F4U Corsair was a carrier fighter with a characteristic inverted gull wing and a large radial engine. In the Korean conflict it found work above all in the ground-attack role, where its load capacity and the toughness of its structure suited it. The markings of machines from this period tend to be plainer than the colorful schemes of the previous decade, which makes the accuracy of the small lettering matter all the more.
The base has to be glossy, because on a matte coat a grayish veil known as silvering forms under the film of the decal. Separate the decal, soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water, let it rest on the paper and only then slide it off onto a dampened spot. Move it into position with a brush and soak the excess water up with a paper tissue. On engraved lines and rivets a decal softener helps and draws the decal into the relief. Once dry, go over the whole model with a matte or satin coat so that the edges of the film disappear.
This is a set of decals, not a kit. The model, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
