A set of figures in 1:72 scale on the subject of Russian warrior monks at artillery of the 16th and 17th centuries.
Responsibility details are not available.
In the 16th and 17th centuries Russian monasteries were fortified points that were taken as part of the defense of the country, and their defenders are among the less usual subjects for small figures. The set is devoted precisely to them, to an artillery crew in particular. Beside the usual lines of soldiers this is a subject you will not come across just like that in an ordinary display case.
Figures in 1:72 scale, that is about twenty-five millimeters tall. The number of pieces and the division of the stances are stated on the box and in the manufacturer's instructions; they also show which parts are fitted separately. The group suits a scene of its own as well as an addition to a larger fortified tableau. Figures at this scale can also be set out over several bases, dividing the crew into a few groups.
First wash the figures in lukewarm water with detergent, rinse them and let them dry out completely so that no production residue is left on the surface. Go over them with a base paint, otherwise the shades will rub off during handling. Work from dark to light: a base tone, then a dark wash into the folds and finally a dry brush over the edges. At 1:72 scale there is no point in painting the eyes; what makes the result is a readable difference between the clothing, the skin and the metal, not the details of the face.
For collectors of small figures and for builders of historical tableaux who are looking for a subject other than regular ranks of infantry. Paints, glue and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
