1:24 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc No. 81 Squadron

Decals 1:24 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc, No. 81 Squadron (Kits-World)

A sheet of decals for a model of the Spitfire Mk.IXc in 1:24 scale, focused on the markings of No. 81 Squadron RAF. The package contains a printed sheet, not a kit or a part to be glued. The decals are transferred onto a finished model after painting, so the decision about the final form of the machine can be left until the end of the build.

Kits-World carries several sheets with similar names for the same type of aircraft. Choose according to the exact product designation and the part number.

Application procedure

• First finish the model in paint and go over it with a gloss varnish, and only then set to the decals.
• Cut an individual design out as close to the printing as possible, as excess film is the most frequent cause of visible edges.
• A brief soak is enough; then let the decal rest on a damp towel until it can be slid off easily.
• Fine the seating with a soft brush and a cotton swab, and draw the excess water off with a towel.
• Apply the softener only once the design is straight, in two thin layers with a pause between them.
• A matte varnish at the end unifies the sheen and hides the edge of the carrier film.

Who it is for

For modelers of the large scale who are building a particular machine and do not want to settle for the markings from the box. The size of the decals in 1:24 scale is an advantage and a risk at the same time: the printing is legible, but a large film is easily creased during handling, so one works with a mat and without hurry.

Decals are not a kit. A model, paints, varnish and a softener are not included in the package.
