1:32 Panavia Tornados GR.1B Desert Storm

Decals 1:32 Panavia Tornado GR.1B, the period of Operation Desert Storm (Kits-World)

A sheet of decals in 1:32 scale for a model of the twin-engine combat aircraft Panavia Tornado in the GR.1B version, with a tie to the period of Operation Desert Storm in 1991. The package contains a printed sheet, not a kit. The markings are transferred with water onto a finished model, so they can be applied even to a piece in a collection that is already built and painted.

The Tornado is an aircraft with a variable-geometry wing and with large smooth areas of fuselage, where the seating of a decal is clearly seen. It is precisely on these areas that it pays off to give attention to a gloss base and to drawing the water off from under the film.

Application

• Go over the painted model with a gloss varnish and let it cure properly, not merely dry to the touch.
• Cut the design out close to the printing, and with long lettering rather in parts.
• Soak briefly, let it rest and slide it into place with a soft brush.
• Draw the water off from under the decal with a towel and only then apply the softener.
• Over protrusions and unevenness work with the softener repeatedly and lightly, not with one heavy dose.
• At the end unify the surface with a matte or satin varnish according to the look of the model's surface.

Who it is for

For modelers of modern combat equipment in the large scale who want to take a model to the particular form of a machine from the start of the nineteen-nineties. The application is technically undemanding, but it calls for clean preparation of the surface and patience when seating larger designs.

Decals are not a kit. A model, paints, varnish and a softener are not included in the package.
