F/A-18D Hornet, a 3D full-color instrument panel 1:32, the variant with the displays on will bring the rendered symbology of the displays into a cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal set with a three-dimensional layer from the maker Kits-World for the instrument panel of a Hornet kit in 1:32 scale. Unlike the variant with dark displays, here the displays are printed as active, with symbology on the screen. The model thereby comes across as an aircraft with its systems running, which suits a diorama on a deck, a scene with a figure of a pilot, or a cockpit open so that it can be seen into.
The two-seat F/A-18D follows from the carrier-based multirole Hornet. Its cockpit is one of the first wide deployments of multifunction displays: large rectangular areas carry most of the information and only a few classic round gauges are left. In a large scale the instrument panel is therefore above all a question of how convincing the screens look.
Level the surface of the panel by sanding, spray it with a dark shade and varnish it with a gloss varnish; a glossy and smooth base is the main safeguard against silvering with relief sets. Transfer the layer with a minimum of water and seat it by pressure, not by sliding. Apply the softener with a drop and let it work without the intervention of a brush; otherwise there is a risk that the three-dimensional layer will ripple or tear. The symbology on the displays stands out best when it stays glossy, so lead the final matting around the panel. If you complete the panel with a figure of a pilot, check in advance how much of the panel will actually remain visible.
A variant with the displays off and further very similar sets for the same aircraft also exist; tell them apart by the exact designation of the variant. This is an accessory for a kit, not a model on its own; a kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
