B-17G Flying Fortress - 3D color seat belts 1:48 (Kits-World)

A set of full-color printed three-dimensional seat belts made for models of the American heavy bomber Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress. The belts are printed on a special backing and carry a realistic raised structure as well as the colors of the straps and the metal buckles. It is neither a photo-etched set nor a classic flat decal but finished color belts ready to be stuck down.

The real subject

The Boeing B-17G was the main production version of the famous four-engine bomber of the Second World War. It was marked out by a chin turret and extensive defensive armament. The crew was secured by seat belts on the seats of the pilots and of the other members alike, and a faithful rendering of them markedly lifts an otherwise empty model interior.

Use

• moisten the belt gently so that it releases from the backing
• transfer it onto the seat or the structure and press it down
• for a permanent seat use a drop of cyanoacrylate or PVA glue
• the belts can be shaped, so they look naturally folded over the edges of the seats
