Color instrument panels with a raised relief for a P-51D Mustang model in 1:48 scale. A cockpit accessory to a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mustang cockpit is visible in full under the bubble canopy, which makes the instrument panel one of the few places on a finished model where fine work really tells. This set carries panels rendered in color and with a raised relief: the dials, the instrument bezels and the lettering are all worked out in advance, so there is no picking out and varnishing of the individual gauges. In 1:48 scale that is a job which by hand takes several evenings and rarely comes out as cleanly.
The P-51D Mustang was an American single-seat fighter of the Second World War, used above all to escort bomber formations over long distances. The D configuration differs from the earlier versions in its cut-down rear fuselage and its bubble canopy, which opened up the pilot's view to the sides and to the rear.
Before applying them, check the instructions to see whether the elements are self-adhesive; the method of application differs between the individual lines and is given in the instructions with this set. Clean and degrease the surface in the kit before fitting, transfer the element with tweezers and press it down with a soft stick so that it seats in the hollows as well. The exact contents of the set and the recommended procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
