A color three-dimensional decal of the instrument panel from Kits-World, intended for models of the Harrier in the GR.1 and GR.3 versions in 1:48 scale. The motif is printed in color and has relief, so once transferred the instruments do not look like a flat print. It is handled like a decal: soak, slide, settle. It is neither a part to be glued nor a photo-etched set.
Decals on a model fall roughly into two groups. Personal emblems, numbers and nose art are a matter of choice and the modeler decides both where to put them and whether to put them on the machine at all. Technical lettering and instrument readings are the opposite pole: they have no optional position and no aesthetic variant, they either match the real subject or they do not. The instrument panel belongs exactly here, which is why what matters with it is not composition but accuracy of placement and legibility under the canopy.
Spray the base gloss and level, and it is a good idea to sand away the molded detail of the panel in the kit. Cut the motif out close, soak it only briefly and let it slide into place on a damp surface. Blot the surplus water away with a tissue laid on from above. Dose the softener drop by drop along the edges and do not run a brush over the relief. The Harrier cockpit sits high and is clearly visible with the canopy open, so it is worth matching the shade of the surrounding consoles to the printing, so that the panel does not look like a foreign element.
An accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. The manufacturer also makes sheets for other Harrier versions; tell them apart by the exact version designation in the name.
