This set from Kits-World is intended for the ejection seats of a model of the British Phantom in 1:72 scale. It holds full-color decals with a raised relief: seat belts, harness straps, handles and seat padding. It is neither a kit nor a resin part; it is a surface accessory applied to the seat from the kit. British machines differ from the American ones in the cockpit, which is why Kits-World keeps the British and the general version of this set separately; go by the exact designation of the set when choosing.
The F-4 Phantom II is a two-seat jet aircraft that in its day served with a number of countries. British examples were operated by the Royal Air Force and the Fleet Air Arm and differed, among other things, in their powerplant and part of their equipment. The ejection seats were supplied by the British firm Martin-Baker. The harness is the dominant color element on the seat: light straps and boldly marked handles against dark padding.
Applying a decal does not end when it dries. As long as the gloss coat you laid under the decal is on the seat, the interior looks unnatural, because real upholstery and straps do not shine. Once the decals are completely dry, spray the whole seat with clear matte varnish. It also hides the edge of the carrier film and the decal blends optically into the surface. Apply the varnish in a thin coat and check that it is compatible with the paint you used; a heavy coat fills in the relief, which is the whole point of the set.
This is a decal set, not a kit and not a finished model. Paints, varnishes and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
