The markings supplied in a kit tend to be limited to two or three machines, and after years in storage they yellow or go brittle. A separate sheet offers a different choice of markings from the one in the kit, and it is new. On a B-17F bomber it is mainly a matter of the large areas of the fuselage and the vertical tail, where every step under the paint shows against the light, so the condition of the elements matters.
The package holds a markings sheet in 1:72 scale and instructions. The extent of the sheet, the list of machines and the placement of the individual elements on the model are described by those very instructions, and the order of work follows from them as well. The manufacturer makes several sheets for this subject, each with different contents, so compare the list of machines in the instructions when ordering.
First check in the instructions how the elements are applied. Smooth and degrease the surface under them and let the base coat dry out completely, so that the edges do not lift. With elements meant to be soaked, a gloss interlayer helps, because no air stays under the carrier film on it. Lay large markings and numbers down in sections, blot the surplus water away with a paper towel from the center outward and only then align the element. Finally unify the whole model with a covering coat of varnish matched to the gloss of the surrounding paintwork.
A markings sheet with instructions is supplied. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
