A decal sheet in 1:72 scale with markings for a model of the Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sheet will be appreciated by a builder who has a B-17F model in 1:72 scale under construction or finished and wants to give it a different look from the one the markings in the kit offer. It also suits anyone building several machines side by side who needs them to differ from one another. In itself it is not a kit but an accessory to one.
The Boeing B-17F is a version of the American four-engine heavy bomber from the Second World War. Models of this aircraft have large unbroken areas of fuselage, wing and vertical tail on which markings stand out and on which a mistake is at the same time hard to hide. That is exactly why it pays to give attention to surface preparation and to the order of work on this type.
The method of application is given in the instructions enclosed in the package; read them through before you start work. As a general rule, markings come last, after the paintwork is finished and dried out, and before the final surface treatment. Smooth and degrease the area in advance, and under elements meant to be soaked lay a gloss coat of varnish. Once dry, the whole model is given a covering coat of varnish, which blends the edges into the surrounding paint and protects them during further handling. Store the sheet flat, dry and out of direct light; the printing does not take kindly to damp or sunshine.
A markings sheet is supplied. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
