Responsibility details are not available.
A large-format printed sheet showing the surface of the British base at Lakenheath in the period from 1990 to 2021. It is neither a kit nor a decal but a base on which a finished model is stood. The printed area measures 675 x 675 mm and is prepared for 1:48 scale.
The motif is tied to a particular station and a particular stretch of time. The name of the set also gives the main American units present there in that period, that is the 48th Fighter Wing with its squadrons. The base therefore suits models of modern jet aircraft rather than propeller machines of earlier eras.
The transition between the printed area and its surroundings decides whether a scene looks like a tableau or like a sheet of paper with a model on it. A proven solution is to lay the base on a slightly larger board and cover the edge with a frame, or else to align it flush with the edge of the plinth so that no overhang arises at all. In a display case a darker ground beneath the edge helps, drawing the eye away from it. For photography it is enough to choose an angle that keeps the edge out of frame.
This is a printed base for a model. The model and the accessories are not included.
