A large-format printed sheet showing the surface of Wildenrath air base in West Germany as it was in 1967. It is neither a kit nor a decal but a finished base on which you stand your model. The printed area measures 675 x 675 mm and corresponds to 1:48 scale.
The motif is dated to a single year, which is the narrowest possible placing among airfield bases. For a modeler that means an exact tie to a particular state of the station in the second half of the 1960s, that is the period of the Royal Air Force stationed on West German soil. Anyone building machines from another decade had better reach for a base with a matching date.
A precisely dated motif is worth photographing so that it shows at its best. Bring the light in from the side and slightly from above, so that the pattern of the surface gains depth and the model separates from the base. Photograph from a low angle, roughly from the height of a figure in scale; that makes the scene look believable at once, far more than a view from above. Keep the edge of the sheet out of frame and suppress the sheen of the surface by turning the scene slightly against the light source. In a display case the same thing is solved by where you put the lamp.
This is a printed base for a model. The model and the accessories are not included.
