Kits-World 1:48 a battlefield from the First World War period is a printed display base 675 x 675 mm with terrain rather than a paved airfield surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
Most bases in this range show paved airfield surfaces. This one is an exception: the motif is the terrain of a battlefield from the First World War period. It is a printed base for a finished model, neither a kit nor a decal, and it suits anywhere a model is not to stand on concrete but in open country.
The surface is terrain, that is without the regular division of panels and joints that mark out airfield bases. That has a practical bearing on its use: irregular artwork does not bind the model into any grid, so you can stand it on the sheet at any angle and the scene will work. At the same time such a base combines better with figures and ground vehicles than a sharply geometric surface.
A side of 675 mm corresponds in 1:48 scale to roughly 32 meters of real terrain. A biplane from the First World War period tends to be considerably smaller in this scale than a modern fighter, around twenty to twenty-five centimeters, so a great deal of free area is left on the square. With this subject that is rather an advantage: the empty terrain around the model is part of the final impression and gives room to add to the scene gradually, without your having to buy a larger format straight away. In a display case, count on a square roughly seventy centimeters on a side.
The printed base alone is supplied. The model and the accessories are not included in the package.
