New Ware 1:48 Jet Provost T.51/52 is a set of die-cut kabuki masks for a model of the British jet trainer. It is a painting aid, not a construction accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A kabuki tape masking set for a 1:48 model of the Jet Provost trainer in the T.51 and T.52 versions. The parts are machine die-cut, so there is no tracing of shapes and no scalpel work straight on the model. The set is not split into levels, because for this subject the manufacturer runs only one variant, unlike other types where it tells a basic and a wider coverage apart. The exact contents of the package are not stated here.
The Jet Provost is a British jet trainer with side-by-side seating, a low wing and a conventional tail. The versions designated T.51 and T.52 are export variants derived from trainers built for home use. The cockpit has a strikingly large sliding canopy with fairly simple framing, but its size and curvature make it just as critical during painting as on more complicated types, since an imprecise mask edge shows at once on a large clear area.
Before masking, simply rinse the clear parts in lukewarm water; never sand them and never degrease them with an aggressive solvent. Seat the mask with tweezers, line it up with the engraved frame and press it down around the edge. Spray the frames with the interior shade first, so that the cockpit does not show the outer color from inside. Spray in thin coats and remove the mask shortly after it has dried. Any adhesive residue comes off with a cotton swab dampened with water, not with solvent.
The masks are a painting aid. The kit and the paints are not included in the package.
