F-117A EXPERT level kabuki masks, 1:48 are pre-cut New Ware masking parts for the Academy kit. EXPERT is the most extensive level of the range.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut kabuki masks for a 1:48 model of the Lockheed F-117A from the manufacturer Academy. EXPERT is the highest of the three levels in which New Ware runs this set, with BASIC and ADVANCED standing below it. The level sets the range of masking, so EXPERT is the most complete of the three variants. The set is cut specifically for the Academy kit and it is an accessory, not an aircraft model.
The Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk was an American attack aircraft with reduced radar signature. Its airframe was built up from flat panels, so-called facets, which deflect the radar signal away from the source. It was powered by two turbojets without afterburners and carried its weapons in an internal bomb bay. It was not armed for air combat and was sent out mostly at night. Service with the US Air Force ended in 2008.
The parts are die-cut on a carrier film. Lift them with the tip of a scalpel or with tweezers, lay them on a clean, degreased surface and press the edges down firmly with a toothpick. Apply the paint in thin coats at lower pressure, because a thick coat runs under the edge. On glazing the interior color comes first, then the outer shade. Lift the mask off while the paint is still flexible, and at an angle to the surface. With more extensive masking, plan the sequence in advance so that you do not have to uncover one area and cover it again.
This is a masking accessory, not a kit. The aircraft model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
