HGW 1:48 Me 262 B Schwalbe – fabric belts (Standard)

This set contains the pilot's seat belts for the cockpit of the two-seat version of the Messerschmitt Me 262 in 1:48 scale. The belts are made of fine textile (microfiber), which faithfully imitates the cloth of the real straps, and they are completed by photo-etched metal buckles and fittings. The fabric parts are laser-scored in advance, so they are easy to take out of the sheet. It is an accessory for the interior, not an airplane kit in its own right.

The real subject

The Me 262 was the first jet fighter in the world to enter operational service. The two-seat B series came about as a trainer and later served as the basis for a night fighter with a crew of a pilot and a radar operator. The cockpit of the two-seat version differs from the single-seat one, and the arrangement of the belts in this set matches that.

Use

• Fabric belts offer a natural shape and drape that photo-etched metal cannot manage.
• The parts are taken out of the sheet, the backing is removed and the belts are drawn tight and shaped into the seat.
• The material stands up to the usual modeling products, and filters and shades can be tuned with paint.
• The metal buckles are detached from the photo-etched fret and fitted onto the belts.
