A figure of a First World War airman in 1:32 scale, according to the name in a guise for the German or the Austro-Hungarian air service. Meant to complete an aircraft model or a scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
Airmen of the First World War flew in open cockpits, and their dress matched that: a long leather coat or jacket, a leather helmet, goggles and tall gloves. The German and the Austro-Hungarian air services differed only a little in the less military parts of the kit, so one figure served for both. Beside an aircraft model the figure gives the viewer scale, and a finished display case looks more inhabited for it.
This is a stand-alone figure in 1:32 scale, not an aircraft kit. The material, the number of parts, the height and whether the figure comes in one piece or split for assembly are given on the box and in the manufacturer's instructions. What decides are the details on the box and the enclosed manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the surplus material and the traces of production away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder back. Wash and degrease the surface before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the figure. Work from the bottom up: the boots and the trousers first, then the coat and finally the face and the small items. The leather of the coat is best caught with a darker base and a lighter hint on the edges and the folds. The face is brushed in at the very end, once nothing more will be touched.
For modelers who build First World War aircraft in a large scale and want a figure to go with them, and for builders of scenes. The paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise; check the exact contents of the package on the box.
