An add-on resin track set for the Sd.Kfz. 11 and Sd.Kfz. 251 half-tracks, not a vehicle kit. It replaces the tracks supplied in the base box and lets you build the running gear with the one rubber pad pattern that the 302 marking in the name sets apart from the other rubber variant in the same line. The contents of the package are not stated here.
The tracks of German half-tracks combined a steel link with a rubber pad on the face that meets the road. That solution damped the ride and spared paved roads, but rubber was in short supply and wore out quickly. The pattern of the pad therefore changed during production, and all-steel links appeared in the late phase. For a model it means that the right choice of track type is one of the details that pin a machine down to a particular production period.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap to get rid of mold release agent. Cut them off the casting blocks with a sharp knife or a cutting disc; nippers shatter resin. Cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) holds the joints, plastic cement has no effect. Sand wet and protect your airways. A primer before painting makes a fundamental difference to adhesion. Keep the steel part of the link in a dark steel tone and let it rub through to a shine on the running faces, and leave the rubber pad flat, dark gray to black. Apply dried mud and dust only at the end and wipe the running faces lightly clear of it, so that the model reads as a vehicle on the move rather than an abandoned wreck.
