It is not a kit, nor parts of a model, but an add-on for painting: precisely cut masks take the place of taping by hand and cutting with a knife. Which particular surfaces the set masks is stated on the box. The set is cut for the Ark or Trumpeter kit.
The T-14 is a modern Russian main battle tank built on a universal chassis platform. In design it differs from the older types above all in its unmanned turret: the crew sits in an armored capsule in the front part of the hull and the weapon system is remotely operated. The shape of the vehicle matches that, that is an angular, flat turret and broken-up armored covers on the sides, which give the surface of the model plenty of large flat areas and sharp edges.
Modern Russian equipment turns up in a uniform green coat as well as in broken-up multi-color camouflage with a sharp edge, and it is with the second of these that masks save the most work. Work from the lightest shade to the darkest. Lay the mask on a perfectly dry coat, press the edges down with a toothpick and spray thinly in two passes. The large flat areas of the turret will call for shade modulation, or the model reads empty; keep the weathering rather restrained, as modern vehicles tend to be fairly clean in photographs.
The set is not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
