Clear imitations of vision blocks and observation devices for models of the BMP-1 and the BMP-2 in 1:35, prepared for Zvezda kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The BMP-1 and the BMP-2 are Soviet tracked infantry fighting vehicles. The BMP-1 carries a low one-man turret with a 73 mm gun, while the BMP-2 has a taller two-man turret with a 30 mm autocannon. The crew and the dismounting infantry squad watch the surroundings through a row of small vision blocks and periscopes on the hull and the turret, which on the real vehicle are glazed and on a model tend to be bare opaque plastic.
The set brings clear imitations of these observation devices in 1:35, shaped for the kits of the Zvezda brand. A vision block that lets light through changes the look of a finished model more than its size would suggest: on a dark hull it is exactly the glossy face of the glass that catches the eye. The set is an add-on to the build, not a model in its own right.
Fit the items only once the hull and the turret have been sprayed and have dried, or you will clog them with paint. Pick them up with tweezers, as a fingerprint on a clear face stays visible. Use a glue that does not cloud a clear surface, that is white glue or modeling glue for clear parts; the fumes of cyanoacrylate glue will fog a clear face. The particular seating and the order of the steps is described in the manufacturer's instructions. If a matte clear coat is still to go onto the model, mask the items.
The model kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
