1:35 M4 Sherman turret mantlet with the 76 mm M1 gun is a turned barrel with a turret shield for the 1:35 model of the American M4 medium tank from PANZER ART. An accessory to a plastic kit, not a tank model.

The set replaces the turret shield and the 76 mm gun barrel on a kit of the American M4 medium tank. The turned barrel has a perfectly round section, an open muzzle and a straight axis, so you avoid sanding a parting line and a crooked plastic barrel. This is not a tank kit, the model is bought on its own.
M4 tanks were armed in production with a 75 mm gun, but for fighting better armored targets they were given the longer and more powerful 76 mm M1 gun. That one was mounted in a roomier turret with a different shield, so vehicles with the 76 mm gun differ from the earlier machines not only in barrel length but in the shape of the whole turret front. On a model this is one of the most prominent identifying features.
Saw the original plastic mantlet off and level the mating surface. Wash the resin in warm water with dish soap, degrease the metal with alcohol and glue it with super glue. After priming, apply an even shade; American vehicles take drybrushed mantlet edges, a fine rub on the muzzle and dusty tones on the lower part of the shield. Leave the muzzle a matte dark tone.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the base kit. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
