1:35 An engine deck cover with a canvas tarpaulin for the Faun L900 is a resin accessory from PANZER ART. It is not a kit of the vehicle but a replacement part for a model in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin part that replaces the covering of the engine deck of the Faun L900 vehicle and completes it with a stretched canvas tarpaulin. The casting captures the soft sag of the fabric, the folds around the fastening points and the taut faces, that is shapes that injection molded plastic manages only to a very limited extent. It is an accessory, not a kit, and the model of the truck has to be obtained separately.
The Faun L900 is a German heavy truck that was used in the Second World War among other things as a tractor for an armored vehicle transporter. Moving tanks by road over long distances spared their tracks and drive train, so these vehicles belonged to an important if less conspicuous part of military logistics. Canvas covers and weather aprons were common on these machines, because the crews and the machinery spent most of their time on the open road.
Wash the part in lukewarm water with dish soap and let it dry. Separate the casting block with a saw and level the mating surface wet, so that the part seats without gaps. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Before painting, try seating the part dry and sand it if needed, as a correction after gluing is already difficult. Tarpaulin looks best when you paint it in a different tone from the metal, for example in gray-beige or faded khaki, and bring out the folds with a lighter cast and a dark wash in the hollows. At the end, knock the gloss back with a matte varnish, as the fabric must not reflect light like metal.
This is an accessory to a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
