A set of cast road wheels for the American M3 scout car in 1:35 scale. The tread of the tires matches Firestone. On an open wheeled vehicle the tires are large and nothing covers them, so the quality of the casting shows on them sooner than on any other part of a model.
The M3 scout car was an open four-wheeled vehicle with an armored hull, which served for reconnaissance, for liaison, for carrying staffs and as an ambulance. It was supplied to the Allies under mutual aid and served in a number of armies long after the war. Characteristic is the roller on the front of the hull, which helped the vehicle cross ditches.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and cut the casting blocks off with a saw so that the cut falls in the contact area of the tire. Bond with super glue and check that all the wheels stand in the same plane. Paint the tires a dark gray, leave the crown lighter and apply a dark wash into the tread. Dirty the sidewalls according to the terrain of the scene.
The set is an accessory to a kit and does not replace the kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
