A model of the late German Heinkel He 162 jet fighter in the D version, 1:72 scale. The designation Salamander came into use for the type.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Heinkel He 162 came about at the very end of the Second World War as a light and as cheap as possible fighter aircraft that was to be built quickly and from materials that were not in short supply. Wood was therefore used to a great extent in its design. It was driven by a single jet engine set on top of the fuselage behind the cockpit, two vertical surfaces stood at the ends of the horizontal tail surface and the aircraft stood on nose gear. The designation Salamander came into use for the type. The letter D in the name points to a later development version, the details of which are described in the manufacturer's instructions.
The finished model belongs among the smaller ones, the span works out at around 10 cm. The result is therefore decided by clean work on the small parts, above all on the landing gear and on the joint of the engine nacelle with the fuselage.
The aircraft stands on nose gear, so add weight to the nose before you glue the fuselage together, as otherwise the model will sit down on its tail. Try the assembly dry and prepare the joint of the nacelle with the back of the fuselage in advance, as it is among the most visible places. Mask the canopy before painting. The marking variants are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Paints, glue, filler and nose weight are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
