A model of the carrier combat aircraft as a clip-together brick kit. The parts click together, you need neither tools nor any chemicals, and the joining system is compatible with common brick kits. The national insignia, the numbers and the color areas are printed directly on the parts, so the work ends with the build and the aircraft goes straight onto a shelf. The Armed Forces range of the Polish brand COBI is aimed at modern military machinery.
The Hornet came about as a single platform that was to replace several older types at once in the US Navy and with the Marine Corps. The basis is a twin-engine design with side air intakes, a pair of canted vertical tail surfaces and prominent leading-edge extensions of the wing, which give the aircraft good controllability at high angles of attack. Carrier operation determined the whole design: strengthened landing gear, a tailhook and folding wings on account of the limited room in a hangar. The single-seat C version is a later production variant with modernized avionics and extended armament options compared with the original A series.
It pays to sort the parts out beforehand and to build in sections - fuselage, wings, tail surfaces. The joints hold firmly, so the finished model stands up to carrying about and to ordinary handling. Build on a flat surface, so that the landing gear seats evenly and the aircraft stands without leaning. The model is displayed with no further work of any kind; it is enough to dust it with a soft brush now and then.
